Welcome to Road To Awe: An RPG Game," where the rules are inspired by the circle of fifths. In this game, seven modules float in space on a satellite, and players can portal between them. Each module represents a musical note: the root note, the one note clockwise, and the five notes counterclockwise. Similarly, the module landed upon, the one note counterclockwise, and the five notes clockwise determine the cells.
As an example, let's say you explore the C module and move to the Eb module, you now have the option to move to different cells within the Eb module. The available cells are determined by the module you're currently in (Eb), the one note counterclockwise (Ab) and the five notes clockwise (Bb, F, C, G D).
Once you've chosen a cell within the Eb module, you can then portal to the corresponding satellite associated with that cell.
The concept I have been presenting is that the circle of fifths can serve as a gateway to multiple musical possibilities. By understanding how the guitar is tuned to the circle of fifths, one can manipulate standard scale patterns to access a diverse range of sounds and musical realms. Despite my attempts to convey this idea to guitar players over the years, its comprehension and adoption have been limited. It is important to recognize that there is no actual game involved; rather, it is a method of illustrating the vast potential that emerges from embracing the circle of fifths on the guitar.
And I was bored.
Battling System:
Combat Resolution Table
| Roll (1-6) + Relevant Stat | Outcome |

· Skill (S): Physical attacks/defense
· Endurance (E): Health
Combat Sequence:
1. Roll a virtual dice (1-6)
2. Add relevant stat (H or S)
3. Consult Combat Resolution Table
4. Resolve outcome
Gameplay Rules:
Choose a starting satellite (any note on the Circle of Fifths)
Modules within a satellite: Current satellite, 1 note counterclockwise, 5 notes clockwise
Circle of Fifths Movement Rule
1. Start at current module (note).
2. Move clockwise: +1 module (next note).
3. Move counterclockwise: -1 module (previous note).
Cells within a module: Current module, 1 note clockwise, 5 notes counterclockwise
Portal to new satellites from cells (new Circle of Fifths map)
Battling System:
Roll 1-6 + relevant stat (Harmony or Skill)
Consult Combat Resolution Table
Resolve outcome
Example:
You're in satellite C, module G.
Enemy: Dark Discord (H: 2, S: 3, E: 5)
You roll 4 + Harmony (2) = 6.
Critical Hit! Deal 2 damage to Dark Discord.
Victory Conditions:
Defeat 5 enemy satellites to reach the Galactic Core.
